Ophelia: In Her Own Words
Inspired by the enduring legacy of Shakespeare’s Ophelia, who ironically realised her freedom through insanity, Ophelia: In Her Own Words is about agency and the regaining of one’s voice. Through fashion, Ophelia is able to explore and express her identity, thus revealing a multi-faceted and nuanced individual which despite the misogyny faced, managed to remain true to herself.

Sequenced into a 2 Minutes clip, it is comprised of found audio from the Almeida Theatre and an animated collage of AI generated images via Stable Diffusion from a confluence of text and visual sources to create the resulting amalgamation.
