VERY BEST: Sia

She was born as Sia Kate Isobelle Furler in Adelaide, Australia. In the mid 90s Sia started her musical career as a singer in the local acid jazz band „Crisp“. The group disbanded in 1997 and Sia released her first album „OnlySee“ under the name Sia Furler. Sia moved to London where she performed background for Jamiroquai. In 2000 Sia signed a record deal and scored a Top 10 single in the UK with „Taken For Granted“. In 2001 she released her 2nd album „Healing Is Difficult“. Unhappy with the promotion of the album she changed record companies and released her 3rd album „Colour The Small One“. She then moved to the United States and released a Live album called „Lady Croissant“. In 2008 she released her 4th studio album „Some People Have Real Problems“ – the album was certified „Gold“ in Australia and reached the Top 30 in the US Billboard album charts, the first of her albums to do so.

In 2010 Sia released her next album „We Are Born“ – it peaked at #2 in the Australian album charts and was certified Gold there. Sia won 2 awards for the album at the ARIA music awards that year. But following the success Sia became uncomfortable with the growing fame and started wearing a mask on stage. She retired as a recording artist and began writing songs. She penned „Titanium“ for Alicia Keys, but the song found its way to David Guetta, who remixed it and put the original vocals of Sia on it. The song became a huge worldwide hit, scoring Top Ten across the world in countries like USA, Australia, Canada, Germany and many more. It topped the UK Single Charts at the beginning of 2012.

In 2014 Sia released her sixth album „1000 Forms Of Fear“ – a huge success! The album topped the US Billboard Album charts in its debut week and was certified Gold. The album also peaked at #1 in Australia and scored Top Ten across Europe. The single „Chandelier“ became her first Top Ten single in the USA as the main-artist. In 2016 Sia released her next album „This Is Acting“ and the single „Cheap Thrills“ – this single became her first #1 in th US Hot 100 Billboard Single Charts while the album reached the Top 5 in the USA and UK and topped the Australian album charts. The album was certified platinum in the UK and USA. In 2018 Sia collaborated with British singer Labrinth and DJ Diplo to produce an album called „LSD“.
