FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:

I lived in Tokyo for a while, and I loved the feeling of finding my place in a setting I didn’t ori- ginally belong to. It felt like an escape from “home” – Belgium, where I am supposed to belong but am constantly reminded that I don’t look like the ave- rage “Belgian girl”. I am half Belgian and half Indian from Mauritius. I loved stepping out of my comfort zone in Tokyo, but it made me realize that, maybe, I didn’t have to travel that far to touch the unknown; a bit of introspection into my
mixed identity sufficed. I’m far from having found comfort within my own roots.
