The Citizizen is an omnipotent AI that facilitates travel through the multiverse for the inhabitants of the Core Verse, where it came to be at the hands of Krymo, an engineer who would become the head of the Fractal Order. As The Citizizen manifests, it realises it cannot understand humanity – and how to help them – without first living as a human. It utilises the multiverse to live billions of lives in the blink of an eye and return with the understanding it needs. This is a story that asks how can an AI understand what it is to be human, what is it to be conscious, and more, what do we need to find peace?
