Mark Ames is General Manager at Connect Macquarie Park & North Ryde (connectmacpark.com), a business-led not-for-profit. He works with leading employers including Optus, Johnson & Johnson, Novartis and Macquarie University, who are using travel demand management and behaviour change to grow Macquarie Park, without growing congestion.
Mark previously worked at the City of Sydney and helped deliver their 2018 – 2030 Cycling Strategy and Action Plan, and in the UK where he was instrumental in helping bring about the former Mayor of London’s 10-year, billion pound cycleway plan. As a consultant, he’s worked with cities in Britain, Spain, the Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand to help bring about contentious projects and streetscape change.
He provided a Key Note Address to Parliamentarians as part of the Friends of Cycling event on 15 June 2021.
