Upcycled Fashion Workshop with Denise Stringer

Fashion designer Denise Stringer from ‘Denise and Jean’ has over 25 years of experience as a designer and garment creator. Denise joined our participants at Korumburra Library for an Upcycled Fashion workshop. Teens and their helpers had the opportunity to create a piece of clothing using recycled materials that expressed their personal style.

This event was one of the many Meetup events that West Gippsland Libraries hosted during Youth Week. Victorian Youth Week 2021 is a statewide celebration of the talents, achievements and contributions of young people.
West Gippsland Libraries would like to acknowledge the following people and organisations for making this event possible:

• Denise Stringer fashion designer + workshop presenter
• Event design: Julie-Anne Trease, Tanya Patterson, Denise Stringer
• Community volunteer sewers: Raelene Lester and Suzin Fletcher
• Anne Millar and Friends of Hillside Lodge Opshop – donating ironing boards and providing free garments for workshop creators
