„Find Meaning in the Present Moment“
Throughline: Jeremiah Howe time travels across multiple points in his life in order to find meaning in his present. I’ve always been fascinated with time travel. When I consider the very real, philosophical sense in which it actually occurs, I find the source of DEI work. What I’ve come to understand is that all points in my life are alive and active in my moment-to-moment existence. I understand that I cannot be where I am without also having been where I’ve been and going where I’m going. What I will do in a month has a profound effect on what I did a month ago and those two points are in conversation while I am here sharing this with you now. When all of these points converge constantly, I find work that propels itself into the past and the future while simultaneously enriching the present.

About the Speaker: Jeremiah Howe looks to the shared struggle experienced by those who oppose oppression in all of its forms so as to generate the social solidarity necessary for truly impactful DEI work.
