Avantelier Art Adventure: Exploring the Symbiosis of Fashion and Sports at Musée des Arts décoratifs & FESCH.TV:

The Musée des Arts décoratifs in Paris presents „Fashion and Sports: From one Podium to Another“ until April 7, 2024. The exhibition chronicles the historical relationship between fashion and sports, featuring 450 items. It explores the origins of sportswear, highlights interwar design influences, traces the development of sports attire, and showcases the integration of sportswear into everyday fashion in the second half of the 20th century. Emphasizing color and logos, the exhibition concludes with a contemporary fashion „running track“ paying tribute to the Olympics. Overall, it celebrates the intertwined history of fashion and sports. The exhibition was curated by Sophie Lemahieu, Keeper of the museum’s post-1947 Fashion and Textiles Collections. The colourful and lively exhibition design is by BGC Studio.
