Amtrak – 2022

Amtrak Coast Starlight from Los Angeles, California to Tacoma, Washington. We had a roomette with chairs that converted to a bed. We ate one meal in the dining car and the rest in our room. We loved the observation car with all of the windows. We experienced a 4 hour delay because of an accident on the tracks ahead of us while we were in California. Unlike air travel, diverting us was not an option. We were supposed to go all the way to Seattle but we needed to catch the last ferry to Vashon Island before it was too late. Thanks to the fast driving of an Uber driver from Tacoma to Fauntleroy Ferry Terminal, we made it with time to spare. 36+ hours on a train is fun, but enough.
