I am Yuxi Zhou. I am a designer who cares about the waste and over-consumption in the industry. I would incorporate social research to my design and give the consumers emotional support to embrace diversity in society and a brighter future.

As a future creative leader, my power lies in the recreating of channels for people to re-link meanings of life to the fashion objects. In today’s society, meanings began to disappear in the repeated format of consumption. My special power as a pioneer is to dedicate myself creating channels for people to express their own meanings of life though the fashion objects.

I would use my strength in illustration to visually create a world that is a reflection to the society and encourage the viewers to see from the bright side therefore optimistically seeking for changes. I am also taking a minor in psychology because I think designing is about people’s perceptions. Combining these ideas and social researches, I would like to research different visual expressions for these abstract ideas and using appropriate visual styles to narrate meanings. I think design has the power to give emotional support for people and making our society a better place to live.
