Perceptions is an artistic endeavour that finds pianist Anthony D’Alessandro collaborating with four exceptional Canadian visual artists. The goal of this project is to join music and art in a way that represents what people are going through during the coronavirus pandemic. In July 2020, Anthony gathered one word descriptions of people’s emotions towards the pandemic on social media. Then, four commissioned artists used one of these words to create a piece of art inspired by the chosen word. In turn, Anthony used the four completed paintings as inspiration for four of my own new solo piano compositions.

A new video/composition will be released every Monday in November 2020.
