Woman at the Well by Erik Wieder

In northern Morocco, up in the Rif Mountains, is the Blue City. The locals are not wealthy by any means, but they make sure to maintain this gorgeous Medina by keeping it freshly painted blue. I awoke one morning and photographed the city. As I turned a corner I found this woman standing at the public well drawing water. Her clothes were the perfect outfit of warm colors against the cool blue walls of the city. Was I lucky enough to catch this moment before her pail was full and she would leave forever? Would I be the only one to remember this beautiful scene? Or could I snap the shot qucikly. Thankfully, I got it! And I consider it one of my most powerful images.
