She was born as Victoria Loren Kelly in California, USA. In 2004 she won „America’s Most Talented Kids“ and signed a first record deal at age 12 but soon ended the contract due to creative differences. At the age of 14 she began posting music videos on Youtube. In 2010 she auditioned for Season 9 of „American Idol“ but did not make the Top 24. In 2012 she released her debut EP „Handmade Songs by Tori Kelly“ under her own label. In 2013 she signed another record deal under a major label and released her 2nd EP „Foreword“ which peaked at #16 in the US Billboard Top 200 album charts. In 2014 she featured on Professor Green’s single „Lullaby“ which peaked at #4 in the UK Single Charts, giving her the first Top 10 song of her career.

In 2015 she released her debut studio album „Unbreakable Smile“. It peaked at #2 in the USA, #3 in Canada and #8 in Australia. It has been certified Gold in the USA. Later that year she was nominated as Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards. In 2018 she released her 2nd studio album „Hiding Places“ – the album reached the Top 40 in the USA and won 2 Grammy Awards for „Best Gospel Album“ and „Best Gospel Song/Performance“. In 2019 she released her 3rd studio album „Inspired By True Events“ – it reached the Top 100 in the USA.

In 2020 she released her 3rd EP called „Solitude“ and in October this year she released a Christmas-themed album called „A Tori Kelly Christmas“.
