TOP TEN: Beyond The Black

This band was formed in 2014 in Mannheim, Germany by Jennifer Haben. Haben started her career by winning a contest called ‚Beste Stimme 2007‘ by singing ‚I Will Always Love You‘ by Whitney Houston in the finals. Afterwards she was member in a pop group called ‚Saphir‘ in 2010 to 2011 before she decided to make Metal music. In 2014 she engaged Nils Lesser (lead guitar), Christopher Hummels (rhythm guitar), Michael Hauser (keyboard), Erwin Schmidt (bass) and Tobias Derer (drums). They released their debut album ‚Songs of Love and Death‘ in 2015 which peaked at #12 in the German album charts, and also charted in Austria and Switzerland.

Their 2nd album ‚Lost In Forever‘ was released in 2016 and peaked at #4 in the German album charts. Afterwards it was announced that Haben and her band mates went their seperate ways so Jennifer Haben hired new musicians for the band. They are Chris Hermsdörfer (lead guitar), Tobi Lodes (rhythm guitar), Stefan Herkenhoff (bass), Jonas Roßner (keyboard) and Kai Tschierschky (drums). Together they released their 3rd studio album ‚Heart of the Hurricane‘ in 2018, which peaked at #5 in the German album charts.

Meanwhile Roßner had quit the band for private reasons as the group continued as a 5 piece band. In 2019 the band released a new version of their ‚Heart of the Hurricane‘ album with 3 new songs and in 2020 their 4th album ‚Hørizøns‘ was released, which peaked at #3 in Germany. In 2021 Herkenhoff left the group.
