TOP TEN: Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness

He was born as Andrew Ross McMahon in Concord, Massachusetts. His father worked in retail and so the family constantly moved. When his uncle died, who was artist himself, Andrew McMahon got inspired to get involved with music and learned himself how to play the piano at the age of 9. He formed his first band ‚Left Here‘ with High School friends but they soon broke up. In 1998 he and 3 members formed the band ‚Something Corporate‘. After the band took a break Andrew released his solo album ‚Evertyhing In Transit‘ under the moniker Jack’s Mannequin in 2005. The 2nd album was released in 2008 and called ‚The Glass Passenger‘. The 3rd and final album ‚People And Things‘ came in 2009.

He then changed his artistic name back to his original name ‚Andrew McMahon‘ in 2013 and releaed the EP ‚The Pop Underground‘. In 2014 he again changed his moniker now to ‚Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness‘ and released the first single with that name called ‚Cecilia and the Satellite‘. This song reached the Hot 100 in his homecountry as well as the Top 10 of various Alternative & Rock Charts. Later that year he released the studio album ‚Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness‘ which peaked at #21 in the US album charts.

His next studio album ‚Zombies on Broadway‘ was then released in 2017 and peaked at #43 in the USA. The single ‚Fire Escape‘ peaked at #4 in the US Alternative Charts. His 3rd studio album under the Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness name called ‚Upside Down Flowers‘ was then released in 2018.
