Those Other Me’s by Phil Goodman (Lyric Video)

FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:

What might our life be like if our decisions had been different?
For all my fellow grammar nerds out there, I know the plural of me (which of course doesn’t exist!) shouldn’t have an apostrophe in it, but „mes“ just looked like a misspelled „mess“!!
Oh and yes, of course it’s a face-swap photo… much to my wife’s disappointment!

LYRICS:
Every road we travel, every turn we take
Could be our best decision, or be our worst mistake
Could I have been a millionaire, or a beggar sleeping rough
Life could be easier, but then it ain’t that tough
If I could hop into, a parallel universe
What would I find there, better or worse

If I could meet those other me’s
Who would be jealous, them or me
Would we wanna swap places, and make a trade
When we’d seen the lives, the other me’s had made

If you’d taken those chances, would you have got the breaks
Should you have put your foot down, instead of hitting the brakes
If you’d quit that dead end job, would you be flying high
Or would you be on skid row now, barely getting by
Do you walk around in rags, or are you wearing suits
Did you tell the boss to shove it, or did you lick his boots

If I could meet those other me’s
Who would be jealous, them or me
Would we wanna swap places, and make a trade
When we’d seen the lives, the other me’s had made

For every break up, for every tear
There could have been a make up, and another year
Do you think of back then, or just today
Did you find your true love, or did they get away

Reminiscing can be fine, but then somehow
Make sure you don’t forget, the here and now
Don’t waste your future, longing for the past
If you’re looking for misery, you’ll find it fast
From my perspective, one thing’s for sure
If the grass is greener there, it’s cos there’s more manure

I don’t need to meet those other me’s
Let them be jealous, that ain’t me
Don’t wanna swap places, or make a trade
Or see the lives, the other me’s have made

I don’t need to meet those other me’s
Let them be jealous, that ain’t me
My job’s ok, I love my wife, I love my family
That’s enough for any life and that’s enough for me
That’s enough for any life and that’s enough for me
