Welcome! My name is Chris Christou. I am a writer and activist who’s been apprenticing the underbelly of culture for the last ten years. For the better part of a decade I was a tourist, travelling the world, trying to find myself, find home, find belonging, lost like many of us in the swirling confusion of the times.

In 2015, a series of serendipitous encounters brought me to Oaxaca, Mexico. Here, in this tourist town, I finally began to see first-hand the dire consequences of our modern wanderlust. After five years and endless writing, I launched the End of Tourism Podcast, exploring the unquestioned themes of wanderlust, exile, and radical hospitality through dialogues with diverse storytellers, scholars and activists from around the world. The resistance, in other words.
With your help, we can unmask and undo globalization’s Trojan horse – the wolf in sheep’s clothing that is tourism. And so this is an invitation to join in this conspiracy, creating awareness, solidarity, and real change.
