Temples and Brothels Documentary Series, Part 2: Religion in the Wild West

FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:

Temples and Brothels is a documentary film series about sex and religion around the world. Directed and written by Moushumi Ghose, Produced by Overlooked Productions.

On the fringes, and outskirts of America, in some of the most rural, and final frontiers of the Wild West, sexual freedom exists in quiet exile.

In Part 2, sex therapist Moushumi Ghose and her crew travel to Colorado City, AZ and Salt Lake City, UT tosee religions affect on sexuality, specifically the Fundamental Church of Latter Day Saints (FLDS), and the less fundamental Mormon group the LDS.

Just outside of Nevada, right next door, at the border of Utah and Arizona lay Mormon polygamist communities. A secret society that practices plural marriage illegally and outside the law with dire consequences, further leading Moushumi and her crew to explore religions role in perpetuating the shame and guilt of sexuality which make up our country’s landscape.
