WELCOME TO WORSHIP

In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we welcome you to St. Paul’s. We especially welcome our guests who have joined us today. We pray that your soul will be strengthened by the good news of God’s forgiveness through Jesus.

PRAYER IN PREPARATION FOR TODAY’S WORSHIP

Lord of all creation, today build my trust in you. I will not always be welcomed for my faith, and often I will be rejected both in aggressive and passive aggressive ways. Help me see today that this has always been the case for your people, and that your aid and guidance have been evident throughout the millennia. Forgive my apprehension to make my faith known, and grant me boldness through your Word to honor you when given the opportunity. In Christ’s mighty name I pray. Amen.

ANNUAL MEETING AND NOMINATIONS

Our annual meeting is today, Sunday, January 23, at 11:15 am in the church basement.

PRINCIPAL CALL

We have extended a divine call to Mr. Jon Engelbrecht to serve as our principal and grades 7-8 teacher starting next year. Jon happens to be a member of St. Paul’s. He currently serves as Dean of Students at Luther High. Please keep Jon and his wife, Trisha, in your prayers as he deliberates serving in this new opportunity in God’s kingdom. ST. PAUL’S COFFEE MUGS

New St. Paul’s coffee mugs are available for purchase in the church basement during fellowship and Bible study hour. The 17 oz. mugs are $10 cash or check, with the proceeds covering the cost of the mugs and anything over being designated toward St. Paul’s 2022 outreach expenses.

NEW BIBLE INFORMATION CLASS

St. Paul’s next Bible Information Class will begin in February and be completed by the end of May. If you or someone you know is interested in membership, in our church’s teachings, or simply in a refresher of important biblical truths, this is the class to take. We’re looking at potentially having classes on Monday evenings starting on Feb. 21, but the final decision on a day and time for class may change to best accommodate the schedules of the participants, so please contact Pastor Groth if interested or if you would like more info. CONGREGATIONAL SURVEY RESULTS

The results of our 2021 Congregational Survey have been emailed via our email list. You can also find copies of the results on the bulletin board in the church lobby. The individual comments shared by survey participants will be reviewed and discussed by our church council. Thank you for your vital input!

OFFERING ENVELOPES

New offering envelopes can be found in the church basement. Please make sure to pick yours up. Online giving is also available (and is much easier for congregational bookkeeping, if you’re able to given that way).

LET’S GO

We’ve begun an evangelism workshop entitled Let’s Go. Let’s Go is designed to encourage and equip Christians to connect unchurched people in their lives to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Seven lessons will help us focus on three important aspects of evangelism: Love, Listen, and Lead. Each lesson consists of a video followed by Q&A and application. Come join us as we now equip ourselves to be better proclaimers and ambassadors of the gospel for our Lord and for those who need to know his grace! The videos and lesson sheets will also be shared on our Facebook page each week.

ST. PAUL’S APPAREL

We’ve set up our own webstore of St. Paul’s apparel and other merchandise through Games People Play. Check out the web page below and submit your orders. They’ll be accepting orders through January 31 before the orders are processed and delivered. Many of the options do have minimum order amounts, so feel free to order one for a friend so we can meet our minimum! There are different types of t-shirts, sweatshirts, pullovers, and soft shell jackets to choose from, as well as a travel mug and a cinch pack.
