The Subaru Ascent is a versatile Family vehicle that is reliable, safe and comfortable for all family sizes. With Share The Love also being one of Subaru’s key pillars, Peacock’s original Punky Brewster re-boot provided the perfect environment to deliver on a unique integrated campaign in partnership with Subaru.

In the highly anticipated revival of the iconic 80s sitcom, Punky Brewster, Punky (Soleil Moon Frye reprising her role) is now a single mother of three children trying to get her life back on track. However, when Punky expands her family with the addition of Izzy, a girl from the foster system that reminds her of a young version of herself, the four kids fight over living arrangements, who’s sharing rooms with who, and who gets which bed.

In typical Punky fashion, she finds a unique solution to put the debate to end and decides to move the entire family into their Subaru Ascent. In an act-long storyline integration, the children move into the car and learn to appreciate each other in the time they spend together, making for relatable and heart-warming moments that not only highlighted vehicle features organically, it also allowed Subaru’s Share The Love ethos to be at the core of these moments.

In addition to the in-show integration, Peacock and Subaru created a custom solo ad targeted towards the series, as well as two spots (:15s and :20s) that playfully highlighted some of the car’s winning features: Comfort, Safety and Connected– proving that Subaru is the perfect fit for Punky’s growing family. These spots aired across the NBCU portfolio, on Peacock platform, as well as socially distributed via @peacocktv’s Twitter account.
