Student Video Open Call SPRING 2022

FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:

Statement from Curatorial Research Intern Sophia Saucer:
“FANTASY prompts ten students to search for a definition with no boundaries. The opportunity was presented as something ephemeral and vague – relevant to a present day in which connection feels transient, yet sacred. The broadness of the proposal was the essence of fantasy – visionary and without constants; a simplicity that becomes complex when shared.
Some artists help us travel to surreal otherworlds; using different perspectives filled with magic, authenticity, and fantastic storytelling. They challenge elements of the body, mind, and soul, reimagining the senses through movement, sound, and color (or lack thereof). Others explore the supernatural, the intimate, or the challenging – giving viewers the chance to grasp the importance of connecting with multiple selves. How can we use those selves to assess our past, present, and future? What can we learn about our innermost desires, fears, and relationships? Who are we when no one else is watching, and what can we be?”
