Soon – Edinburgh Napier Portfolio

My intention for ‘Soon’ was to focus on relationships and the strain they have been under during the last year, particularly that of a parent not being able to see their child.  I felt this topic was something that everyone could relate to as we have all endured separation of some kind.  The short highlights the desperation the father feels, and the relief that he is now allowed to travel and see his daughters. 

I took on the roles of writer, director, cinematographer and editor for this short, which was filmed entirely on my mobile phone and edited using Adobe Premiere Pro.  Family members were cast to the roles.  I chose the music to fit with the driving scenes in particular, and the uplifting climax of the song matches the heartening finale.
