Paris Fashion Week came at the worst possible time and it felt strange to be a bystander watching my Instagram feed switch from war posts to runway shows.

Amongst all of this @tonydocekal and I connected via a dialogue on insta as their upcoming show stood out to me. Since I had been following @sheltersuit and their foundation work providing the homeless and people without shelter with garments that turn into sleeping bags, for a while, I wanted to offer my support.

Their team, made up of a large number of refugees and people who have experienced war in their own countries themselves, have been working so hard on this debut collection that introduces the label to the foundation, aimed to further financially support the non profit work.

Long story short, Tony asked me if I could film the show. With no time or budget we came up with the only concept that felt right to the cause – in the spirit of “people helping people” we asked the audience to film the show and had them Airdrop us the footage afterwards.

This is the film we created – so different to my usual way of working and such a special day to be a part of. To me, it captures the soul of what @Bas.Timmer and his team have started and I can’t wait to see where they will take it.
