‚SCT mission‘ is a introductory animation for an East London charity that helps our community to recover from homelessness, drug or alcohol addictions and other complex needs.

Irene Guarnieri (b.1996, Firenze IT) is an illustrator, content creator and 2d animator whose work usually explore concepts such as fashion, gender, women body confidence and women sexuality – mainly through the use of digital art, animation, painting and collage.

The animation represents the journey that these people go through with SCT charity, to reach a lasting recovery and fulfill their life. The video starts with a lost and lonely person surrounded by bare trees and a gray background, who at the end of the animation will finally find his/her way in a sunny and colorful environment. The hands that pick him/her up from the floor and draw the stairs represent the charity help; but it is the character’s willing and strength that bring her/him up to the stairs to a better life. The stairs are a metaphor for the hard journey that they have to go through before reaching a fulfilling life.

The video is a 2d animation digitally hand drawn frame by frame, and then composed in After Effect.
