Scattered but connected: We moved to Hof, a city on the verge of the Iron Curtain

When I say that we’re no longer citizens in our cities, but our cities‘ citizens everywhere else, I mean this is how I personally feel. This story is influenced by migration and displacement. The world is changing so fast, that it feels that fewer people get the chance to hold on to their land of heritage. Communication technologies have forced us to leave our homes (both physically and virtually). Though who choose to stay (and not change) often end up feeling like foreigners even in their own hometowns.

Is it just me who feels this way?
