Rotinonhsiónni Ironworkers Trailer (2021)

FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:

While Rotinonhsiónni ironworkers were known to travel back and forth from their various communities, including Kahnawà:ke, to New York City following the 1920s, many opted to live nearby and formed a new community in Brooklyn. This became affectionately known as “Little Caughnawaga.” Rotinonhsiónni women played an integral role in the formation of this community. They acted as intermediaries which included establishing boarding houses and assisting transient workers during their time in the city. Today, the community is not as prominent as it once was but Rotinonhsiónni families can still be found living there and the latest generation of ironworkers continue to walk the high steel of New York City and other North American skylines.
