Rock and Roll documentary film trailer

In 1990, a year before Nirvana and the Seattle music scene broke onto the charts and into mainstream consciousness around the globe, Pittsburgh garage rock band The Cynics released their album Rock ‘N’ Roll, winning awards locally, touring both the US and in Europe. They were lauded in the music press and inundated with offers from major labels. Their video for “Girl, You’re On My Mind,” was being played on MTV’s 120 Minutes. Then, inexplicably, they turned their back on the labels and went their own way. 30 years later, in the face of indifference in their hometown, they continue to slog it out on their own terms.
