The plot premise of a road movie is a simple one: our character/s set themselves to travel from A to B. This travelling often takes place across the landscape, sometimes it takes places across universes, sometimes across time, sometimes it might just happen in one night.

In Road movies, the ‘travelling’ is a narrative device that opens the possibility for multiple mini-plots to continuously interrupt the progress of our protagonists in their quest.
The character in the road movie is never just an observant, a passer-by, a flaneur… her/his very existence sets off the series of combustions that create the story. S/he becomes an ‘incidental’ observer.
