RIPPLE IN MY MEMORY

FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:

RIPPLE IN MY MEMORY

A memoir to my memory, travel and distance from family. The dream like state connects those who have moved into a different dimension.

The initial concept for the artwork started by thinking about peripheral vision and how macular degeneration may appear. The idea that the central vision is obscured encouraged my investigation to memory and how we are able to fill in the gaps. Using the motif of movement within our surroundings, traveling one place to the next, the moving image is a celebration of vision, memory, dreams and connection.

The perforative aspect of creating moving image, whilst working with it or thinking about how it can be transformed means there is potential for the work to keep evolving. The people seeing at one point in time may experience something new the next.

Footage captured on Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera taking from recent travels to Gloucester, NSW
