MARGARET ROBERTS BUTLER
Roberts Butler Margaret. Hill Of Doon, Oughterard, Co. Galway and late of Sancta Maria, Leenane, Co. Galway. Slipped away peacefully on the 24th of May 2021, surrounded by her heartbroken family and in the tender care of the staff of The Galway Hospice. Predeceased by her beloved parents Alfie and Sally. It is with broken hearts and many tears we announce the passing of our beloved Margaret.

Cherished and much loved she will be sadly missed by her daughter and best friend Ína and by her loving sons Alan, Phelim, Jamsie and Liam. Always remembered and in the hearts of her sisters Mary Counihan (Gort), Martina Donnelly (Rosscahill), twin Angela Joyce (Maam) and brother Liam (Australia), by her Aunt Mary Clancy (Moycullen) and godfather Martin Coyne (Leenane), brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grand nieces, cousins, wonderful neighbours, loyal friends and by the extended Roberts and Butler families.

“ Forever In Our Hearts ”

Due to current restrictions to help prevent the spread of Covid-19, Margaret’s funeral will be held in private, in line with current restrictions. Private Requiem Mass will take place in St. Michael’s Church Leenane on Wednesday, 26th of May, at 12 o’clock. Funeral will be streamed live. Private cremation to follow in Shannon crematorium. Margaret will be laid to rest at a later date with her beloved parents in Leenane. Flowers welcome as Margaret loved flowers of donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Galway Hospice foundation. Please note the funeral cortège will leave her home at 10.30am and travel via Glann, Oughterard Main Street and on to Leenane.

The family wish to thank most sincerely all the Doctors, nurses and carers for the love and care given to Margaret. Special thanks to the amazing staff at The Galway hospice and all the wonderful people who helped Margaret during her illness. It breaks our hearts to have to let her go, but we know she is at peace now. Sleep well Mags xxx.
