Hello!
I have an announcement from Sacramento County about Public Health.
Many people have been needing to go to the emergency room at the hospital.
There are serious concerns about the Omicron COVID variant spreading rapidly.
Most Public Health and hospital leaders are urging people
that if you are are only experiencing mild Covid symptoms.
or if you only need a test to get back to work,
or a test for trips, travel or concerts,
in these cases please do not
go to the emergency room, they are at max capacity.
Why do you want to avoid going to the hospital now?
Covid is spreading quickly and record numbers of people are getting sick fast.
People who need access to a hospital are finding that they are all full.
So you are stuck, what do you do?
Don’t worry here are some options:
If you are having mild symptoms you can contact your primary care doctor.
Through video phone if you can.
Another option is you can go to urgent care.
There are a number of urgent care offices you can visit.
People with mild COVID symptoms do not need Emergency Care they can recover at home.
Take cold medicine, drink lots of water, you can recover that way.
Please understand if you just need testing,
You can get tests from your doctor’s office or look online for a free community testing site.
Please do not go to the Hospital Emergency Room just for a Covid test.
If you are concerned about the community your first step is to get vaccinated.
If you are eligible and have had your first and second shot, please get your booster.
When you are out in public please continue to wear a mask.
Avoid crowded events and travel if possible.
Please save the hospital emergency rooms for people that absolutely need it.
