The research presented in this video discusses the prestation stage of the gift giving process model of Sherry also known as the ‘Sherry model’ and adopts it to retail between crafts-persons and tourists.

The prestation, includes the act of giving and the response to the gift, this stage adds value to the authentic crafts souvenir(ACS), as it is the actual gift exchange stage between donor–recipient, in this case the Sri Lankan Authentic craftsperson and the tourist. The gift (ACS) is highly regarded by tourists as they are tangible, sentimental, and cherished objects of a memorable experience, and also considered as an ‘intangible reminder or golden memory’ of a travel experience.
