Our Summer in the Psalms – C3 NATL Church Online

During the Summer we will be traveling through the Psalms to discover the story of God’s people and his faithfulness toward them.

The book of Psalms is an intricately designed collection of poetry that recounts Israel’s history and God’s covenant promises. It’s a book made for a lifetime of careful contemplation, where we can learn about the importance of prayer and the acknowledgment of pain, as well as the power of praise and fulfillment of prophecy.

There is no better place in Scripture to learn the vocabulary of prayer than in the book of Psalms. God’s people have used psalms as a guide for worship and prayer since before the time of Christ. The range of emotions found in the Psalms helps us find words to express ourselves to God in every circumstance.

Our hope then is that as we travel through the Psalms we will discover a language and story that give us a greater glimpse into who God is and who we are as his people. Psalms will be our liturgy as exiles awaiting the now and not yet kingdom of God.
