My Best Life App – Connecting young people to services & opportunities in Lambeth

FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:

On Thursday 22nd April NPC led an Integrate event about a web app being developed by a partnership of charities – NPC, The Mix, UK Youth, Founders and Coders, LEAP – to connect young people in Lambeth to services and opportunities that meet their needs and interests.

The team are taking a user centred approach, with young people directly involved in the design and user journey. Unlike existing products the app is seeking to provide a more personalised experience, helping to connect young people to the right services based on their needs (wellbeing, health, housing, employment, etc) as well as their interests (be that sport, dance, fashion & design, etc).

We know that many young people are looking for recommendations from people they trust. Youth workers play a key role in this, so the team are now looking to explore how this app can help youth organisations with how they identify, reach and engage young people.

Kathryn Dingle (product manager), Nicola Pritchard (programme manager) led the event:

• sharing the latest prototype
• talking through the approach and challenges along the way
• sharing direct feedback from YP

They opened the floor to Q&A to talk about:
• what challenges youth teams face with reaching & engaging young people
• what youth teams could gain from this product
• what new features could be incorporated in development that would help add value to youth teams
• if/how you’d liked to be involved in future app iterations
