This video was filmed over the course of a trip from Dallas to San Antonio. Maybe it could be said this is Posadas’s take on a travel vlog? Dan and i certainly ended up walking some pretty significant distances for the walking shots – any exhaustion you see ended up being pretty authentic. The first half of this video ended up being taken about a half hour’s drive outside Waco, leaving us the second half to be finished at Mission San José.

A momentary pit stop away from our now-beloved Handycam, Agua Viva was filmed on a shoulder-mount Panasonic camcorder from the early 2010s. With the help of a tripod we made great use of slow punches in with mechanical zoom. The early AI auto-stabilization, brought to its limits with the lens pushed full tight, gave a bizarrely „warbly“ artifaction i chose to emphasize and draw out in the edit. The result, ideally, should be a mind-crunching juxtaposition of a homely, familiar footage with an alien meltedness to how it moves.
