Mother Russia (English)

FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:

The LIVE-STREAM saga of award-winning kayak filmmaker Olaf Obsommer continues.

In the hope of making the hard withdrawal from kayaking due to the Corona pandemic more bearable for you, my offer of selected live streams continues with „Mother Russia“.

Date:
19 May 20:30 „Mother Russia“ Livestream.
Duration: 70min

Where to watch the Livestream:
www.obsommer.de

I would be happy about a support of the live stream via PayPal or bank transfer. And don’t panic, if you miss the live stream you can watch the recording.

The advantage of live streams is that they also allow people to „dive“ into the wonderful world of canoeing who have not had the opportunity to come to a lecture before due to work or family reasons.
I will respond live to questions after the lecture via chat.

Program:
Kayaking adventures with Mother Russia are like sugar, bread, and whip. Ok, the sugar part clearly predominates and there is always some bread, and the whip cracks only very rarely, mostly in the form of vodka. In this Livestream, I report on my travels to Siberia in the Sayan Mountains at Lake Baikal and the Altai Mountains in the very south of Siberia, in the border region of Kazakhstan, Russia, Mongolia, and China.
Travelling to Russia is rough, pristine, and uncompromising, but when the mother opens her little heart, it quickly becomes warm, sociable, and hospitable. Thus, during the Livestream, I will not only report about wild waters but also about the numerous beautiful and exciting interpersonal encounters.

The speaker:
Olaf got the first tender touches with the wonderful world of paddling as a baby in his mother’s belly canoeing the River Rhine. From that point on, things progressed quickly. Olaf grew tall, taller still, eventually huge. Now – for a long time, long before the smartphone epidemic – he has been travelling the earth exploring wild rivers.

His camera is always with him, capturing these adventures for eternity. For this, he has been honored several times with film prizes and media awards. But his professional photography career was obstructed by »other jobs«. He completed training as an industrial mechanic, before dropping out of both a mechanical engineering and nursing education, and eventually trained as a certified geriatric nurse, working in the profession for eight years. Now, as a self-proclaimed media mogul, a travel/kayak expedition lecturer, and president of Big-O-Productions, Obsommer has found finally his passion in storytelling

Many of his adventures captured with his camera were aired on German TV like ZDF, RTL, NTV, N24, SAT1, and BR3. His work has been described by TV stations as »sensational action and nature shots«. During his live interviews, he shares his adventures in an honest and light-hearted way, including ample funny stories.
