John F. Kennedy’s “We Choose to go to the Moon” speech was very inspirational given its time and context, but for my project, my goal was to modify the speech to make it more timeless. I wanted to make this speech apply to, not only the Apollo 11 mission, but all space exploration missions to follow. To accomplish this, I edited out all the mentions of the moon or specifics about the progress of space exploration that was current at the time of the speech. I believe the final product is a truly timeless version of the classic speech that pays homage to the history of American space travel and would likely motivate people to continue on with advancements in this field.
