Fashion film ‘Mirage’ – the belief of seeing something that is not there. A false reality portrayed trough shadows and flashes of imagery of Lithuania. A true reality conveyed through the performer’s expression of movement showcasing yearning and longing for own’s homeland, as well as feelings of alienation. Influenced by Platonism philosophy and Plato’s allegory of the cave.

An intense, yet melancholic and isolating cinematic experience created by my visual language of experimentation with lighting and shadows to create a strong atmosphere.

Accompanied by an intense soundscape, but soothing voice expressing grief of an orphan creating another storyline for the film.

A combination of Lithuanian folk and the contemporary. A blend of live-action and virtuality of 3D visualisations. Yet remaining within the borders of minimalism and abstraction.
