As part of the movement in favour of rights for the LGBT community (lesbians, gays, transsexuals and bisexuals), the city of Madrid is transformed into one gigantic party for a whole week, and attracts thousands of people from all over the world. The streets of the central quarter of Chueca (well known for its gay vibe and its openness and tolerance) are filled with outdoor bars, pavement cafes, live music, a wide variety of people all set on having a great time, cultural activities… The highlight of this event comes on Saturday, with the celebration of a mass parade along some of the most emblematic streets in the capital, such as the area around the Paseo del Prado, the famous Puerta de Alcalá arch and Plaza de Colón square
