SYNOPSIS:

Over the course of 12 months, Benjamin Ward (writer/editor) and Jimmy Cape (director/DoP) and have self-produced the 45min wildlife and activism documentary: „Lost Along the Line“

We travel down the line of construction of High Speed 2 Rail (HS2) in the UK and take an honest look at the state of nature, and in particular ancient woodland. The film is brimming with rare wildlife encounters, shocking footage of habitat destruction and meetings with dedicated woodland protectors who are fighting for the forests’ survival.

This whole project has been produced with zero-budget – all with the aim to question
whether the UK’s wildlife protection laws are being broken, and to encourage people
to reconnect with our precious natural spaces.

This film is a true example of how grass-roots guerrilla documentary filmmaking can be used as a tool to effect change. Additionally, it provides a window into how individuals can to join the fight in active conservation efforts that are happening in countries such as the UK, rather than more inaccessible remote areas which are often the focus of environmental campaigning.

We hope this film will encourage people to stand up to corrupt governments all
around the world.

The WCFF mission is to inform, engage and inspire wildlife conservation through the power of film..
