Similar to how fishing is a practice of patience, grandfathers have a way of encouraging us to slow down. Proverbs 13:22 says, “A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children.” A meaningful inheritance is one full of wisdom for spending our time wisely, as we read in Psalm 90:12, “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” I am grateful for the ways my grandpa encouraged me to slow down, travel lightly, and live intentionally.
