ISABEL – FESCH.TV

FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:

„When my aunt Isabel passed away due to Covid-19 last year, for the first time the concept of death was painful and meaningful in every possible way. I couldn’t stop thinking about burial rituals and as I couldn’t stop my practice as a designer this intrinsically merged into my work.

The garment displayed in the film was generated through an ethical design practice. It is entirely made from compostable materials, and can be buried in the ground after it has been used. As a consequence, the ecosystem around the burial is regenerated.

Our present has become catastrophic due to climate change. A new reality is upon us and the future has become our now. The fashion industry is facing an urgent need to change the way we generate fashion and react to our own environment. This film explores the possibility of creating compostable couture garments, changing our methods on how we generate imaginary and devotional fashion“ – Alonso Gaytan
