FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:

Ice and fire, chill and warmth overlapped to give hot shivers to a delighted audience in one of Italy’s best examples of cross fertilisation between three creative art forms: opera, immersive show and figure skating.
Emblematically set in the Arena di Verona, the Ancient Roman theatre traditionally dedicated to big opera events and concerts, Opera Pop on Ice was the first fantastic encounter between creatives, talented performers and tech professionals, in staging a prototype of immersive show in which the audience was enraptured by the strong contrast between the ice-cold stage and the passion of the figure skaters, creating a unique short circuit of beauty and emotions.
The event, sponsored by Intimissimi, has been produced for four years with the name Intimissimi On Ice.
Co-produced with Opera On Ice, it was sold out at every performance, also thanks to the involvement of prestigious directors such as Francisco Negrin, Damiano Michieletto and Kim Gavin, who have all re-interpreted the concept of the show year after year.
In particular, the inspiration for the first show, directed by Francisco Negrin, came from a collection of Intimissimi, a renowned Italian lingerie brand which believed in this daring project. The thematic material of the collection was lace and its patterns. Opera, pop music, figure skating and fashion were the means through which to show a wondrous ride from the cold static pattern of ice to the beautiful, sensual pattern of skaters, in a journey that touched the very soul of nature and its hidden colourful map of life.
The main characters were played, from the very first performance, by the exceptional figure skating Olympic champions Caroline Kostner and Stephane Lambiel, surrounded by a cast of extraordinary talent and in a fascinating dialogue with the voices of great opera singers, such as Andrea Bocelli.
