Insight of Neuroscience for Cross-Cultural and Diversity Management

FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:

This paper provides a review of the ongoing research on how culture interacts with factors such as environment, gene, brain, and behavior to produce the immense dynamics of diversity that we witness today. In the field of evolutionary biology, the „culture-gene co-evolution“ and „culture-gene interaction“ are two established theories that enjoy many rich lines of research over the last decades. However, much of this knowledge repertoire does not travel beyond the discipline and remains distant to theorists and practitioners of interculturalism. This paper aims to bridge such a gap, using interdisciplinary approach to connect and reveal areas of interests and potentials for interculturalists. This paper also addresses limitations and points out the cautions we should take when interpreting and transforming research findings of cultural neuroscience into practice.
