Die griechische Insel Leros oder auch Insel der Artemis, nach der Göttin der Jagd, liegt zwischen Patmos und Kalymnos in der südlichen Ägäis und ist eine der letzten Oasen der unverdorbenen Schönheiten.
Die Insel hat eine Gesamtfläche von 54 km2 und zählt ca. 8500 Einwohner. Üppige Vegetation wechselt mit kargen Hügeln in wunderschöner Harmonie ab. Die Küste ist sehr abwechslungsreich und bietet Buchten zum Baden für jeden Geschmack. Leros gehört zu der griechischen Inselgruppe Dodekanes.
