In Loving Memory of Margaret Rose Beck

FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:

Margaret Rose Beck, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021. She will be remembered for her loving caring heart, compassion for others and her witty sense of humor. She loved her family more than anything and would do anything to help others.

Margaret was predeceased by her husband Donald Arthur Beck, grandsons David Arthur James and Matthew H. Burns, her parents Charles and Rose Twigg, brothers Robert Twigg, Larry Twigg, and sister Terry Sautman. She is survived by her six children: Scott (Kathy), Bob (Denise), Sandy Otstott (John), Helen James, Rick (Vicki), Kathy Fulbright (Dave); 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 4 brothers, 1 sister and many nieces and nephews. The Beck family were members of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary church in Belmont, Michigan.

Margaret was one of 9 children born to Charles and Rose Twigg and was born on November 18, 1936. The Twigg family lived in Carlyle, Illinois and later moved to Frankfort Michigan where Margaret attended high school and met her soul mate Don Beck, who she was married to for almost 50 years. They first lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan where they started their family of six children. In 1967 they moved to Belmont, Michigan to a one-hundred-year-old farm house big enough for the whole family. They enjoyed living in the country and had a lot of pets and a big garden to tend to all season long. Margaret also enjoyed canning, sewing, knitting, quilting, playing the piano, deer hunting and spending time with her family.

Margaret loved to travel and really enjoyed riding on the back of she and Don’s Honda Gold Wing. Many summers were spent camping in Frankfort at the Platte River Campground where they brought all six kids and the motorcycle. Both Margaret and Don’s families‘ lived in Frankfort during those years and a lot of fun memories were made in Frankfort on Crystal Lake with Margaret’s siblings and the many cousins born to the Twigg family.

As her six children grew up, in the early 1970’s Margaret wanted to focus on her career, and she started working for Michigan Bell telephone company where Don also worked. They made a lot of good friends and had some really good times over the years at the phone company. She and Don both retired in the late 1980’s.

Margaret and Don owned many different Honda Gold Wings, always trading in for a new one to have the latest and greatest. Together they rode to every state in the continental U.S. Sadly, she lost Don to a motorcycle accident on one of those trips in North Carolina in 2005.

As a widow she moved to Sparta to a manageable condo where she continued enjoying life and watching her family grow. In 2018 Margaret was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and moved to Meadowlark Retirement Village in Sparta, Michigan with assisted living and memory care. Many thanks to Meadowlark for the wonderful loving care they provided for her.

She will be missed by her family but knowing her difficult battle the past years is behind her and that she is now in the Lord’s hands gives her family comfort. Rest in peace Margaret Rose Beck.
