With the Russian invasion of Ukraine, we find ourselves once again in a situation where innocent people are being maimed and killed by the ambitions of a brutal dictator. Driven by this crisis, my son who served in the military a number of years ago, has informed me that he is volunteering to help save civilians in Ukraine. He along with several dozen other veterans from around the globe have formed a group called the Norman Brigade who have volunteered to travel deep into the war-torn Ukraine to help evacuate trapped civilians. They will provide humanitarian and medical aid to those most in need, deep behind conflict lines, where other humanitarian groups dare not venture.
