Mrs. Geraldine Mason-Wilson was born on April 22nd, 1943 to the late James Bailey and Gertrude Smith. Geraldine departed her earthly life on March 19th, 2022. Geraldine attended Charlotte Mecklenburg School System and later attended Central Piedmont Community College.

Geraldine was employed with Kemper Insurance Company for over 30 years, where she retired. She also worked for St. Paul Baptist Church as church secretary for over 19 years.

Geraldine was a faithful and devoted member of the St. Paul Church family for over 50 years. She served on the broadcast committee, choir, missionary board, youth leader, preacher’s wife ministry, and was a Sunday school teacher. She was a faithful member of the Women’s Baptist Home and Foreign Convention, and the Lott Carey Association. She also served on the Charlotte-Mecklenburg branch NAACP, and Order of the Eastern Star.

Geraldine was a great singer, she also loved to cook and travel. She loved her hats and she wore them WELL. She had a gracious smile and laughter and was a very loving and devoted wife for eight years to the late Reverend Dennis C. Wilson, who preceded her in death in 2018.

Geraldine leaves to cherish two sons; Gary B. Jackson (Delores), Darren Mason; step-son, George Wilson, stepdaughters; Vivian Stinson (Jessie), Doris Gardner (Michael), and Angela Hamilton (Tim). Six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a host of special nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. Special friend and hairdresser
Earstine Harris.

She leaves to cherish a very devoted, loving, and caring granddaughter Keresha Brown. Keresha was very supportive, loving and the caregiver for her grandmother. Geraldine and Keresha traveled many places together. Keresha was Geraldine’s rock. When you saw Geraldine you saw Keresha. They loved each other dearly.
