Hit So Hard

Details the life and near death story of Patty Schemel, drummer of the seminal ’90s alternative rock band Hole, and charts her early life, friendship with Kurt Cobain, rise to fame and eventual spiral into an addiction that left her homeless on the streets of Los Angeles before she turned her life around. The film weaves together raw Hi8 „home video“ footage recorded while on Hole’s „Live Through This“ world tour with contemporary interviews with Schemel, bandmates Courtney Love, Eric Erlandson, and Melissa Auf der Maur. Nominated for NME’s Best Music Film and a GLAAD Media Award for Best Documentary, the film features Schemel’s 40 plus hours of never-before-seen archival video of the grunge scene, including private time with Kurt, Courtney and Frances Bean, and rare behind-the-scenes moments with members of The Lemonheads, Pavement, Veruca Salt, Metallica, Sonic Youth, Luscious Jackson, the GoGos, and more.
