Gust Across the Sea

This is a sound installation. Every time, if New York is witnessing a gust, this installation would make the gust sound happen in the backyard of my room in Shanghai, China.

We are all blown away by the news in New York and we travel back and forth. There is a gust that is blowing across the seas and is affecting all of us. Yet, when I change the environment from New York to China, I somehow begin to doubt whether do I really come to New York? Do New York and my experience really exist? For me, the sound of this installation reassures me that I did go to New York.
